| it is not worth purchasing this item. the other Milwaukee 12V tools are great. purchasing in a kit with other tools....avoid. There are other groupings of drill, impact, screwdriver, etc. that are worth it. overall the system is great, light, recharges quickly, good design, respectful power and drive for what it is. I have used the Makita 10V version... the Milwaukee I think is slightly better on all accounts. If you get tired of using your 18V drivers and drills for smaller jobs, this is it. but don't bother with the Hackzall. |

I have milwaukee's small electric screwdriver. Its in this same family. It performs beautifully. Except that sometimes it will stall. I think the motor has a safety that is too sensitive, or the motor is weak. Either way the stalling is a bit frustrating but manageable.
I expected the same thing with this product, but not as bad as it is. This product stalls so badly that its barely useable. You will never cut through anything without it stalling every 5s or so. Its very frustrating. If I had to do it again I would not buy this product. I do not recommend it. I have not found any good use for this, nor have I been able to work around its deficiencies. If I were you I would simply stay away from this. Get a proper sawzall and be done with it. |

I'm an electrician. I thought this would be good for metal conduit. It's not strong enough even for 1/2 inch conduit. It overheats and shuts off. Good for thin metals and other soft materials.
Review update: Seems to run 100% better now, after one year. Maybe it was just 'tight' when I used it new. Milwaukee continues to amaze! By now I also have their right angle drill, compract drill, impact drill, and compact screwdriver. I love them all. Getting the radio next! |

| so impressed with the 12 volt series. i needed this tool for one cut a on a job and wondered if i would ever really need it again. but i reach for it all the time. works extremely well cutting rigid foam, exhaust pipe, nails, and just about anything. it's not a 12o volt sawsall so don't expect it to be. i rate this tool at 5 stars because it's light weight, has good power, the light is extremely handy, and like the rest of the 12 volt series, it fits great in my bags. |
