| With my old hose, the connection to the garden faucet was dripping a lot of water when I use it. With this Gilmour Platinum, the connection is very tight and easy to twist it on. I have no water drip and I am very happy with the purchase. |

I've bought a lot of hoses, and usually try to get the ones that are at or near the top of the line at the stores. I've never been very happy with any, and some made me curse the manufacturer and all his family.
I like using a hose reel. Most hoses are OK if you pull them straight off the reel, and do not try to go very far. They usually keep their shape and if you don't baby them, they will kink continuously. Then, you have to baby them when you reel them back in, making sure they aren't in the least bit twisted. The trouble with most hoses is that once they get enough of a kink, they never recover.
This hose is orders of magnitude better. It doesn't hold the coiled shape of the reel, it's pretty rubbery, light, and easy to use. Of course, I've learned pretty well how to prevent hoses from kinking, but most of my other ones would still drive me crazy. This one is so much better, I want to kiss it. I'd guess it might kink if you don't pay attention, but anyone who complains about that has never used a different hose. Perhaps the very heavy-duty rubber hoses are better, but they are expensive and heavy.
The only problem is that the faucet end is big. It's very nice, but on my hose reel, the connection is in a place where it was too tight to fit, so I had to use a small extension to connect it to. But it's sure easy to tighten. |

I have a pretty small house and yard. I use this for cleaning off my car, washing my bike and various other things and filling up things with water.. typical hose uses. I don't garden. 50' is good for me as I can reach anywhere in my yard with it.
It does not kink. The attachment to the faucet is very easy to use, big and turns quite nicely. My only complaint is that it is plastic.. it feels sturdy, but I'd guess if anything ever dies on it, this part will be the first.
I've used lots of other hoses before and this is by far my favorite one. |
| No tangles! | 2009-12-15 | 4 / 5 |

Doesn't tangle. Made my wife much more happy with our back yard.
This thick, heavy hose won't kink and tangle on you. Silver/grey color might not fit all tastes but if you want a hose that doesn't kink every time you move it this is the one! |

| This hose has solid connections and is very substantial without being too heavy. It has kinked, but rarely. It is flexible, but not as much as I would like; it holds its shape somewhat, making hanging it up a bit of a methodical process. I suppose a reel would eliminate this problem. Overall, I am happy with it. |
