ArctiClean is a two-step cleaning process that removes existing thermal grease or pads and prepares the thermal surface for a fresh application of thermal interface material. ArctiClean is a specially formulated product to remove TIM from heatsinks and electronics.
Features: Unique 2-Step Process ArctiClean 1 Thermal Material Remover quickly emulsifies and dissolves the existing thermal grease or pad from the CPU and/or heatsink so that it can easily be removed with a clean cloth or paper towel. A few drops of ArctiClean 2 Thermal Surface Purifier and some gentle wiping then removes the remaining residue and inhibits flash corrosion on copper or aluminum.
ArctiClean 1 Thermal Material Remover ArctiClean 1 uses a proprietary combination of non-toxic biodegradable solvents to emulsify thermal greases or thermal pads. The citrus and soy based solvents in ArctiClean 1 match or exceed many hazardous and volatile solvents such as fluorinated and chlorinated organic solvents, acetone, MEK (methyl ethyl ketone), mineral spirits, isopropyl alcohol, and toluene.
ArctiClean 2 Thermal Surface Purifier The cationic surfactants in ArctiClean 2 remove any residue left by the ArctiClean 1 leaving a pristine surface for the application of a new thermal interface material. It also incorporates advanced flash corrosion inhibitors that minimize the corrosion layer on copper and aluminum allowing for more intimate contact between the thermal interface material and the heatsink.
Using ArctiClean 2 With Other Solvents Most solvents and cleaning products leave residue on the CPU and heatsink that negatively affects the performance of any subsequently applied thermal interface material. ArctiClean 1 Thermal Surface Purifier removes the residue of citrus or petroleum based cleaners and inhibits flash corrosion on a copper or aluminum heatsink.

These cleaning solutions are legit. They work almost perfectly for cleaning off old and dried thermal grease or thermal wax, and the company's website has a set of useful instructions for how to use it: [...]
Basically, the solution labeled '1' is the one you use first to clean off the grease and dissolve it. You keep it there for maybe 30 to 60 seconds, and then wipe it off or put something over it to soak up the dissolved grease. I used paper towels for this. After it's all cleaned off, you apply '2', which is a purifier that removes all the tiny particles of leftover stuff, and basically makes it very shiny, smooth, and ready for thermal grease application. The purifier you can wipe immediately, using lint free cloth. I also used paper towels, since I didn't have coffee filters or eyeglasses cloth at hand, but it works fine as long as the towels aren't dusty.
Overall, the cleaning fluids worked great, and I used the Arctic Silver 5 grease for my laptop after cleaning it with these. You could probably go by without buying these, but it gives a lot of peace of mind to know that you're using something specially formulated just for thermal grease and wax cleaning, instead of potentially different mixes of isopropyl alcohol. Might be good to air out the room you're working in, since it does have a bit of an odd lemon-y smell. |

Bought this product with the Accelero S1 Rev2, used it to clean my XFX 8800GT and the least I can say is that it works great, just apply few drops from product1 and clean, then repeat the same with product2 and voila you're done and have a clean shiny area where you can apply your thermal paste or tape.
Would recommend it especially for the price I got it $ 2.95. |

When I bought Arctic Cooling MX-2 thermal compound to replace the factory compound on my PS3, I ordered this kit as well.
Pros:
-Easy to use. It's clearly labeled one and two, with instructions on the back of the bottles.
-Works perfectly. Cleans and purifies the surface of the CPU and GPU for thermal paste application.
