It does exactly what it is supposed to do!2010-03-214 / 5
And I am very glad it does. Have wanted to have an adjustable end wrench which I did not have to keep tightening each time I took it off-and-on several times in a row. It is sturdy and precise. The locking mechanism is easy to clamp and loosen. My only need is for a set of one smaller and a "miniature". This would be perfect!
Pretty ingenious, could be even better2009-12-124 / 5
If you need and are going to buy a crescent wrench, then you might as well get this one (assuming the extra cost isn't an issue). You don't HAVE to use the locking function, but you have it when you need it.

IMO, it would be better if:
a. It adjusted with the handle slide mechanism that is becoming more popular. I much prefer that method.
b. The jaws opened up more (or there were a larger size). Usually it's larger bolts that you need to clamp down on.
Great idea, solves lots of issues, an essential item.2009-11-135 / 5
This is a fine example of taking 2 simple and well understood technologies, and combining together to make an ultimately more valuble endproduct. Traditional adjustable wrenches can hold a setting worth $h*+. Traditional vise grips lack parallel jaws, and are terrible at holding onto any "intentional" fastener (i.e. nut or bolt). This solves a few of the major frustrations of each. This is great for "breaking" a nut or bolt. I'd still keep my traditional adjustable wrench to use after breaking a nut loose, as this one does not work well for turning -> going to next hex flat -> turning -> going to next flat -> turning . . . This wrench will become an essential in my traveling tool bag.
If you only could have one wrench, this would be it.2009-11-125 / 5
I have to agree with most of the other reviews of this product. It is very useful and is made well. Its main advantage over a normal adjustable wrench is that it can be tightened with a grip of the handle to stay in place after you have removed your hand. Vise-grip type pliers will do the same thing but they have teeth that can mar or damage the finish or round the edges on the bolt or nut. I only wish they would make it in a 6 inch and possibly an 8 inch size. Even though the span of the 10 inch adjustable wrench can fit on bolts and nuts of a 6 inch or 8 inch wrench's span, you should generally use the size wrench that is best suited for the job. Otherwise, it is more likely that too much or too little torque can be applied to the bolt or nut, potentially causing damage to the threads or the shaft of the bolt, or potentially result a bolt or nut that will loosen and cause damage or injury.

I have only had this wrench for several months so I really cannot attest to its longevity. However, I do wonder whether the wrench after years of wear will continue to apply enough grip to stay on the bolt or nut because the amount of grip is not adjustable as with a vise-grip type tool that has a screw to adjust how tight the wrench will get. However, I would not reduce the 5 star rating on this wrench because of this hypothetical future issue. I said in the title to this review that this would be the wrench you should have if you could only have one wrench. Well, I have many wrenches and I find this wrench a superior tool that everyone should have. Hint: Christmas is coming.

My hat's off to this versatile tool. Used it right away to fix faucet leak. Works well..
