Very lightweight and easy to use but battery needs to be recharged after approx. 30 minutes of heavy use.
WORX GT WG151 18 Volt Cordless... Trimmer/Edger2010-09-083 / 5
I like this a lot for only a three star rating. My problems with it are that my Mother cannot change it from a trimmer to an edger at all and it takes me a lot of effort to do so. It should be easier, especially for seniors! The "Battery" I have will only let me edge the front lawn before running out from a full charge. Maybe 15-20 minutes tops. If I try to do any trimming it will run out of power too soon and I cannot finish the front yard edging. We don't have a huge front yard.
***Enough of the not good enough. ***
I think this thing is fantastic with edging, easy to make clean sharp edges and the lawn looks professionally edged when finished. When converted to a trimmer it is light and easily to move around trees and flowers safely. I think this is a great product overall, but it's Battery performance, and difficulty changing into Trimmer/Edger modes bring the ratings down in my book.

I purchased a Worx GT WG151 trimmer/edger in May 2009. From the very start I have had trouble with the battery maintaining a charge. My first battery did not last the summer of 2009. I purchased two more batteries (Spring 2010). Now neither battery will hold a charge for more than a minute in spite of the green light indicator on the charger. Tech support thinks the problem is the charger but cannot send me one due to the passage of time. Customer service (I use the term loosely) says I need to purchase another charger or battery since it is beyond the thirty day warranty period. I was not allowed to speak to a supervisor. I have spent in excess of $300 and Customer Service's recommendation was to now spend more. No one at 866-354-9679 (Worx) or 866-788-7394 (tech support) seems able or willing to help. Great little tool when it "works," but it gives real meaning to battery range anxiety.
String Edger2010-09-064 / 5
I have used the cordless string trimmer three times and like it very much. It does a great job of edging. The only problem I have had is that the string seems to break off quite often. On three ocasions it broke inside the spool and I had to use a screw drive to get the end lose to restring it. It seems the string was welded to itself. It is easy to restring one you are able to find the end and pry it lose. It give you a very nice edge.
Extremely Poor Battery, Non-existent Customer Service2010-09-051 / 5
I purchased this item 5 months ago, and have only used the product 2 times a month since receiving it. It worked well for the first few months, after which the trimmer would only run for 2 or 3 minutes at a time after charging. The 2nd recharge after this starting occurring yielded a flashing red light on the battery charger indicating that the battery is bad.

I registered the product on the WORX site after purchase, and followed the limited warranty information on their site. I contacted WORX customer service on 3 separate occasions, followed up with email via their site, and the only response I received was an email telling me how busy they were and they may not be able to get back to me... but keep trying - unbelievable!

I researched the battery problem, and found it is the most common problem plaguing this unit, and another battery model is recommended to correct the problem (at $80 consumer cost). WORX lists the WA3512 (original battery) as out-of-stock with no estimated date of stock arrival. In my opinion the unit has a faulty battery design, and it seems problem avoidance is the solution WORX has chosen. I am escalating my complaint to the BBB, FTC, and the CA Attorney General's office of consumer protection to seek resolution.

I would never recommend a product with either known performance problems or poor customer service, never mind both. I would strongly advise finding a reliable and appropriately support alternative, and avoiding this product entirely.
